Lump sum contract for the construction of a 620m long 1.2m diameter sewerage outfall contract, the works were constructed in joint venture with BMD Constructions.

The chosen methodology was a bottom pull, featuring an on-shore winch pulling via a buried anchor offshore. This required the dredging and excavation of a trench through the beach and foreshore of up to 4 metres in depth, plus a shallow offshore trench.

Concrete weight-coating of the steel segments and welding of the segments into strings was carried out in advance of the launch of the pipeline, successfully carried out over a four-day window.

The project received an earth award in 2010.
